Privacy Policy

This policy explains how OnCue Chinese handles information when you use its website, scene previews and mobile app. Contact: theemansunder764@gmail.com.

Information needed to provide the app

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account information those services provide, such as an account identifier and, when available, your email address. We use Supabase to manage authentication, your learning preferences, practice history, messages and membership entitlements.

Text you send and voice recordings you choose to submit are processed to provide AI replies, speech recognition and translations. Relevant practice context is sent to our AI providers through Vercel AI Gateway. Do not include sensitive personal information in practice messages. Public character portraits and scenes are fictional practice materials.

Purchases, reminders and diagnostics

Apple and Google process payments. We verify store transaction information to provide allowances, renewals and refunds; we do not receive your full payment card details. If you enable practice reminders, we store the reminder time, time zone and a device push token. You can disable reminders in the app or notification settings.

Optional error reporting uses Firebase Crashlytics and support diagnostics. Diagnostic records may include app version, device or operating-system information, error stacks and request identifiers. We exclude message text, recordings, passwords and purchase receipts from diagnostic event fields.

Optional usage analytics

Analytics is off until you choose to allow it. The website, App Clip preview and full app have separate choices. If enabled, Firebase/Google Analytics receives usage events such as the character or scene viewed, assistance used, input method and practice completion, together with limited device and app information. The app uses an opaque, hashed account identifier after consent; it does not send your Apple or Google account identifier or email as an analytics identifier.

Website analytics uses first-party cookies on this subdomain after consent. We use controlled campaign categories, not arbitrary full URLs, for acquisition analysis. Advertising storage, advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. Refusing analytics does not prevent browsing, opening shared content or practising. Use the button below to change your website preference, or the app’s settings to change your app preference. We do not backfill actions performed before consent.

Manage privacy preferences

App Clip preview analytics is also off until you enable its optional toggle. Consented preview events are sent through our server to Google Analytics using a random identifier for that preview session. We do not transfer that identifier or consent to the full app, and do not use fingerprinting to join website, preview and app visitors.

Shared links and previews

Shared links identify a public character and optional scene. They do not expose the sender’s conversation or account. Previews contain prepared text and audio. Where supported, a public destination is stored on your device so the full app can open the intended character after installation or sign-in. This routing works independently of analytics consent.

Service providers and retention

Our service providers include Supabase, Vercel, Google/Firebase, Apple and the AI or speech providers used to process your practice. They may process information in countries other than yours. We retain account and practice data while needed to provide the service. Account deletion removes account-linked private practice data; limited transaction, security or operational records may be retained when needed to prevent abuse, resolve transactions or meet applicable obligations. Platform backups expire under the platform’s retention schedule.

Your choices

You can change learning preferences, disable optional analytics or diagnostics, manage notification permission, or delete your account in Settings. Contact support for access, correction or deletion requests you cannot complete in the app. Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately in the relevant store.

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version.
